Torino/Lecce (Italy)
MUSIC TO WATCH, FILMS TO BE LISTENED TO
Seeyousound International Music Film Festival has been taking place in Turin since 2015.
National and international premieres; thematic focuses; exhibitions, original productions; screenings for schools, workshops, masterclasses, meetings with authors, live music and much more.
In a few editions, the festival has carved out a prominent role both on the city and national cultural scene, creating for itself a position on the international scene and confirming its enormous potential for growth both in terms of programming and audience participation.
The rich universe of the festival is divided into four COMPETITION sections:
• full-length films: documentaries LongPlay DOC and fiction LongPlay Feature ;
• short films 7-INCH;
• videoclips SOUNDIES;
• a Contest for musicians, producers and sound designers for the original soundtrack of a silent film FREQUENCIES.
The two exhibitions OUT OF COMPETITION offer a complete panorama of the film scene in the music genre: INTO THE GROOVE, an exhibition permeated by a pop vein, dedicated to works established on the scene of major productions. RISING SOUND, a look at the new global soundscapes, beyond market boundaries, stereotypes and prejudices, which at each edition dedicates an in-depth look at a specific theme such as Music is the weapon or TransGlobal Express.
Seeyousound is a festival created in 2015 in Turin exploring music in every frame through movies, performances and education. They offer several competitive sections (documentaries, short films, video clips…) and recently created a new competition called Frequencies, a contest for musicians, producers and sound designers for the original soundtrack of a silent film. A few years ago, Seeyousound started exporting the festival format, in a reduced version, to Milan, Bologna, Florence, Palermo and Lecce.
